MALTEM AU is growing its team within the Application Development space in Melbourne, Australia for a leading Energy Client.

Responsibilities :

We are looking for a Development Team Lead whose primary focus is to lead a Team of Developers and support our LNG business platforms via developing enhancements and bugs fixing – primarily with vendor-based Allegro ETRM system (C#, SQL) plus other LOB applications.

The candidate should have the strong will to discover the business and liaise with Stakeholders on a daily basis. In this role, you will be part of a small IT team (of Developers & Business Analysts) and working directly with business users (traders, product controls, etc.) to assist them with their day-to-day system support & operations; and to translate their business needs into IT solutions.

The main activities of this Development Lead role are :

• Managing a Team of Developers along with Hands-on Coding & Programming.

• Administrating & support users from our LNG trading platform on vendor-based Allegro ETRM system with integration to other LOB applications (e.g. Veson IMOS, SAP B1)

• Empower business users to carry out their day-to-day operations effectively (e.g. on deal bookings, shipment scheduling, PnL calculation & reporting, back-office controls and quality checks, invoicing & interfacing with accounting systems)

• Challenging the current Allegro customizations with C# customizations.

• Understand new business needs and develop new functionalities based on complex business requirements

• Coordinate UAT & production deployment of new system functionalities

• Create custom reports & dashboards using Power BI & Excel technologies

• Write and update technical documentations in English and make them available to the team

• Provide training to business users & other team members

Qualifications :

• 50% focus on Development and 50% on Leadership

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in leading a Development Team

• Autonomous and able to take ownership of the Projects

• Solid knowledge of SQL to be able to write complex queries (SQL Server)

• Solid knowledge of C# programming language or JAVA or Python

• Experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools), Veson IMOS, SAP B1 is a plus

• Flexible to adopt and learn unfamiliar technologies (Power Automate, Selenium, Azure related etc) whenever required

• Good troubleshooting skills to find out root cause of issue and provide valuable suggestions to resolve the problem

• At least 1 year as developer in commodity trading industry will be a plus.

• Solid knowledge of front, middle and back office processes and functional design on commodity trading – including deal representation (both physical & financial), MTM pricing, logistics, settlement, accounting and controls

• Knowledge of key indicators such as PnL, MtM, is a plus to assist business in reconciling economical and accounting PnL

• Good ability to translate business requirements into technical solution with good design & supportability

• Prior knowledge of LNG or gas commodity trading is a plus

• Eager to understand and work on business logics particularly related to pricing

• Good communication skills, especially when engaging with different stakeholders

• A team player and ability to work with global teams effectively

• Ability to work under pressure and dealing with constraints

• Strong discipline in documentation
