We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager – Lung Cancer Program to join our Clinical Programs team. Based in Brisbane, with Melbourne or Sydney also considered, this is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Lung Foundation Australia’s Lung Cancer Program.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – Clinical Programs, Research & Innovation, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across LFA’s Lung Cancer Program, with responsibility for program strategy, performance, funding, partnerships and sustainability.

You will directly lead key initiatives including the Specialist Lung Cancer Nurse Program, Australian Cancer Nurse Navigator Program and Australian and New Zealand Lung Cancer Nurses Forum, while bringing together expertise from across LFA to drive an integrated approach to lung cancer care and system improvement.

Key priorities include:

• Lead the strategy, planning and performance of LFA’s Lung Cancer Program;
• Drive delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of key national initiatives;
• Build influential partnerships with government, health services, clinicians, funders, consumers and sector leaders;
• Manage program funding, budgets, contractual commitments and performance;
• Identify opportunities for growth, funding and long-term sustainability; and
• Use evidence, data and stakeholder insights to strengthen program impact and improve lung cancer outcomes. 

About You

You will be an experienced program leader who can navigate complexity, build strong partnerships and turn strategy into action.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in health, program management, business, public health or a related discipline;
• Significant experience leading complex health, cancer, community or similarly integrated programs;
• Experience managing government or externally funded programs, including budgets, contracts and reporting;
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills;
• Demonstrated ability to lead across multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams; and
• A strong understanding of the Australian health system and how programs achieve measurable impact.

Knowledge of lung cancer care, models of care, health policy, workforce development or the broader cancer sector will be highly regarded; however, we also welcome candidates who can rapidly develop this knowledge and bring strong transferable program leadership experience.
