The Role Day-to-Day
The Sales & Bid Manager is responsible for managing the overall capture function for Luminact ensuring the process from lead identification through to offer is led in a professional manner. They are responsible for turning opportunities into compliant, competitive, and winnable bids that drive revenue and secures sustainable order backlog.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and organise sales pipeline from lead identification.
• Lead the assessment of Pgo & Pwin to prioritise opportunities for broader consideration.
• Lead preparation and presentation of bid/no-bid decisions based on strategic fit, capability alignment and win probability with allocation of bid budget and resources.
• Lead preparation of capture plans to define project management of proposals in accordance with bid/no-bid decisions.
• End-to-end bid / tender management to own the full bid lifecycle. Including bid schedules, resources and SME inputs (eg finance, project, ENG, supply chain and commercial) to ensure on-time submission.
• Overall responsible for bid writing to appropriate consider and address commercial, technical and contractual risks. Ensure compliance with internal and customer compliance, governance and probity to satisfy bid compliance.
• Scanning, monitoring, preparing and submitting grant applications aligned to strategic fit and co-investment business cases.
• Tracking and reporting at monthly business reviews, status, win/loss and lessons learned.
• Achieve individual KPIs in respect of pipeline management, bid development and order intake objectives.
• Other related and cross-functional tasks as required from time to time
What you bring:
• Proven experience in Australian Defence sales, bid and RFT activities.
• Strong understanding of CASG and NZ MoD Defence Capability Strategies and plans (interest or experience in systems integration C4/communications, ICT, or electronic systems, ideally in a military vehicle or land domain context an advantage).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Experience with Defence acquisition frameworks, certification processes, and ASDEFCON/contracting requirements.
• Familiarity in project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
• Current or eligible to obtain, an Australian Defence security clearance (NV1)
• Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, law or related disciplines.
• Experience working with Defence primes or CASG programs in the land domain.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Defence commercial environment.
• DISP awareness or membership experience
• MS Office and general computer skills.
• Effective time-management and organisational skills.
• Effective communication with stakeholders (internal and external) at all levels
