Lions Haven is a leading not-for-profit 121 bed Residential Aged Care Facility in Hope Island. Our modern facility, which includes a 20 bed secure wing, offers a safe and comfortable environment to ensure quality of life to our residents, staff and visitors. We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Cook for an immediate start in permanent part-time positions. If you have great attention to detail, take pride in your work and have a caring and friendly nature, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
The role of our Chefs is to ensure that the meals and refreshments are provided to our Lions Haven residents that meet their individual nutritional needs and preferences. The chef is responsible for providing services that are in line with the Food Safety Program guidelines. They are responsible for food preparation and presentation of meals. They bring a strong commitment to customer service, food safety and an understanding of special dietary requirements that will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our residents.
We are looking for individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive and warm working relationships with residents and colleagues.

All about you
We are seeking kind and self-motivated people who have a passion for working with the elderly. Having come from a similar role within Hospitality, Aged Care or Health Services, you will demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Contribute to the production of food items such as therapeutic diets, special meals etc.
Follow defined menus in a timely manner.
Assist the Department Head with the management of the food safety plan and its day-to-day compliance.
Ensuring meals and refreshments are provided that meet the resident’s individual needs
Food Safety or Food Handling practices certificate (HLTFSE001 preferred)
Sound commitment to providing exceptional customer service
A great team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Willingness to learn new skills on the job
A flexible approach to work and adaptable to fast a paced environment
Availability to work over a 7 day roster
Requirements
Qualified Chef
Aged care experience highly regarded
Police Check – obtained within the past 12 months
Current Covid-19 Vaccination including booster
2026 Influenza Vaccination
