Description

Every employee at Learning Links is paid correctly because someone got the details right. At Learning Links, you will run our fortnightly payroll end to end, set up time and attendance in Employment Hero and support managers with rostering, so our people can focus on helping children and families.

A shared focus on children’s learning

For more than 50 years, Learning Links has supported children with learning difficulties. Our work brings together psychology, speech pathology and education, in partnership with families and schools.

Based at our Office in Alexandria, you will work with the Finance and People & Culture teams, and managers across our clinics, schools and early learning services. This is a permanent part-time role (3 days per week). You will use Employment Hero and Paycat to pay people fortnightly across allied health, education, early learning and corporate services.

A role you can own and improve

  • Run payroll end to end – Preparing every fortnightly pay run accurately and on time in Employment Hero and Paycat.
  • Stay compliant – Meeting STP, superannuation (including Payday Super), PAYG and salary packaging obligations on time.
  • Manage pay rates – Keeping rates and allowances accurate and applying annual SCHADS Award and EA increases on time.
  • Set up time and attendance in Employment Hero – Turning SCHADS award and Enterprise Agreement rules into timesheet, approval and shift settings.
  • Support rostering – Giving managers templates, rule checks and troubleshooting while they stay in charge of their rosters.
  • Support staff to use the Employment Hero app – Helping people record time, request leave and view their payslips with confidence.
  • Answer pay questions with clear explanations, and fix the root cause of any discrepancy.
  • Protect and improve – Keeping sensitive payroll data confidential and finding better ways to work with IT, People & Culture and our system providers.

What you will bring

  • At least 2 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll compliance including awards and Enterprise Agreements, PAYG, STP, Payday Super and leave entitlements.
  • Hands-on pay run experience in a cloud payroll system such as Employment Hero (or KeyPay), including allowances, deductions and salary packaging.
  • Time and attendance experience setting up timesheets, approval workflows and pay rules, with an understanding of rostering rules for casual and sessional staff.

Experience we value. Skills we can help you build.

  • Employment Hero and Paycat experience is desirable, not essential. If you have used similar payroll systems, we can support you to build this capability through training and hands-on practice.
  • A payroll, HR or finance qualification is desirable, not essential. A tertiary qualification or payroll certification is welcome. We can support your ongoing development. Experience in not-for-profit, health or education payroll will also help you stand out.

You will have exceptional accuracy, strong reconciliation skills and complete discretion with confidential information. You communicate clearly with employees and managers, and you can meet fixed pay-run deadlines in a part time schedule with a proactive, collaborative and positive approach.
