We’re looking for a casual Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III and Diploma) at Peakhurst who thrives in a collaborative, child-centred environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality, inclusive education and care. Reporting to the Head of Early Childhood, this casual position supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing while contributing to a positive, safe and continuously improving preschool community.
We operate from 8.00am-4.00pm during school terms and provide a high-quality inclusive Early Childhood Program catering for the individual needs of all children from 3 to 6 years and their
families.

What Success Looks Like in This Role
Success in this role will be measured through child outcomes, inclusive practice, regulatory compliance, collaboration and contribution to preschool goals. In this role, you will:
High-Quality Education and Care
• Support and deliver play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the preschool philosophy.
• Use intentional teaching strategies, daily routines and inclusive learning environments to support each child’s individual learning journey.
• Observe, plan, document and reflect on educational programs, projects and individual support plans.
• Actively engage in children’s play and promote holistic development, wellbeing, inclusion and positive conflict resolution.
Children and Family Partnerships
• Build respectful, trusting and culturally responsive relationships with children and families.
• Communicate sensitively with families and provide meaningful updates about their child’s day, learning and wellbeing.
• Welcome new children and families and support smooth enrolment and transition experiences.
• Celebrate diversity and contribute to an environment that reflects the broader community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
• Apply the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting requirements.
• Contribute to quality improvement planning, self-assessment and the preschool’s assessment and rating outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality, privacy and accurate records while following child safety, work health and safety and organisational procedures.
• Support safe, clean and well-maintained indoor and outdoor environments and respond promptly to risks or concerns.
Team and Operational Contribution
• Collaborate with educators and the Preschool Leadership Team to plan and deliver a high-quality curriculum.
• Share observations, ideas and best practice through team meetings, professional development and reflective practice.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and positive change across preschool operations.
• Support the induction of new staff, students and volunteers and assist with administrative duties as required.
About You
You are caring, collaborative and committed to inclusive early childhood practice. You enjoy building strong relationships, working as part of a team and creating safe, engaging learning experiences
where every child is understood and supported.
You will bring:
• An ACECQA-approved Certificate III or Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Demonstrated understanding of current early education and care legislation, the EYLF and the National Quality Standard.
• Current ACECQA-approved First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates.
• Current ACECQA-approved Child Protection training and Child Safe training from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
• A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organisation and reflective practice skills.
