The role

Lady Gowrie Tasmania is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education and Care Practitioner to join our team at Fahan Education and Care Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative team, delivering high-quality, play-based education and care across our Long Day Care (LDC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) programs. At Fahan, we value children’s voices, nurture their curiosity, and create meaningful learning experiences that support their learning, wellbeing, and development.

  • Hours: 32 hours per week
  • Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

In this role, you will:

  • Uphold the safety, rights and wellbeing of all children and promote a culture of child safety with a zero-tolerance approach to child maltreatment, abuse and neglect.
  • Provide meaningful and age-appropriate learning experiences that nurture children’s curiosity, creativity, and growth.
  • Actively supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • Create engaging and welcoming room setups that promote exploration and learning
  • Document and reflect on children’s learning and development
  • Collaborate with families to build strong partnerships, share insights about children’s learning, and ensure continuity between home and the service.
  • Commit to your own professional growth and development
  • Always work in line with Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s policies, procedures, and the National Quality Framework

What you’ll bring:

  • An ACECQA-approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Previous experience in a similar role and a demonstrated strong commitment to child safety
  • A proactive and positive approach to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, with willingness to learn and apply the Early Years Learning Framework
  • A current Tasmanian Registration for Working with Vulnerable People (child-related activity – childcare services)
