 About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Transport & Logistics, you will be responsible for managing the operations of our Linehaul, Express and Local PUD division. This role combines operational oversight with people leadership, ensuring our drivers, equipment and customer commitments are managed safely, efficiently and professionally. You will be a visible leader who spends time engaging with drivers, supporting customers, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring operational performance aligns with KTrans’ high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a key ambassador for and adhere to all HSEQ regulatory, legislative, Safety leadership, meeting performance and KPI targets and Company requirements;
  • Lead your team by being visible,driven and operating with a proactive mindset and ensuring both yourself and your team deliver the Company’s Five Pillar Culture;
  • Manage and oversee all operational and equipment requirements for the linehaul and local fleet;
  • Communicate and oversee scheduling with Operational and Logistics Supervisors to ensure all contractual transport requirements are being met;
  • Working with Supervisors, manage driver fatigue, including on call after hours coverage on a rostered basis; 
  • Regular and accurate reporting and communication with Head of Transport & Logistics on potential or actual impacts and up to date production information on local, linehaul or express transport services;
  • Communication with the workshop to ensure fleet maintenance standards are maintained and downtime is kept to a minimal;
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies or improvements where possible;
  • Ensure that Operations achieve defined standards with respect to productivity, performance, fleet management and cost control;
  • Assist the Head of Transport & Logistics in the review and continuous improvement of Operational KPIs relevant to the business and implement and maintain monitoring review procedures with a focus on cost efficiency and waste elimination; and
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients by communicating daily deliveries and forecasting future operational requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum five years industry experience in similar managerial role;
  • Current MC license preferable
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessor (desirable);
  • Strong knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management requirements
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a dynamic environment
