We’re looking for an experienced Bulk Operations Manager to join our team at Welshpool. This is a hands-on role where your leadership will have a direct impact on service delivery, customer outcomes, and business performance.
From Chain of Responsibility compliance to asset utilisation and customer KPIs, you’ll drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while leading a high-performing team.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Operational Excellence
- Lead all bulk operations with safety as the number one priority
- Maximise fleet and workforce productivity to meet customer demand
- Ensure subcontractor and operational compliance with company standards
- Drive full utilisation of technology across operations
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Own Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management compliance
- Lead monthly toolbox meetings and risk control activities
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ, QA, and regulatory frameworks
- Deliver lead indicator activities and close out corrective actions on time
People & Culture
- Lead teams in line with our Five Pillars
- Build capability through training, development, and succession planning
- Manage performance clearly, fairly, and consistently
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with customers, regulators, and industry bodies
- Proactively manage service delivery, communication, and performance outcomes
About you:
You are a confident, decisive leader who understands bulk transport operations inside and out. You balance safety, compliance, and commercial performance without compromise.
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ operational management experience in bulk transport or logistics
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, CoR, and fatigue management
- Proven ability to lead large teams and complex operations
- Solid financial acumen with a focus on cost control and productivity
- Degree in Transport & Logistics (or equivalent experience)
