Description

Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit, client focused organisation that delivers collective impact and wraparound services to the Hedland Aboriginal Community. 

Julyardi is searching for a Project Officer (Data and Quality) to join our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team in South Hedland. The MEL team is responsible for helping our services collect, manage and evaluate data so that we know what the community needs, and can be sure we are delivering it!

The role of the Project Officer is to assist the MEL team to ensure that the organisation’s monitoring and evaluation activities are designed and implemented effectively. This includes collecting and analysing data, using the results to improve the organisation’s effectiveness, and reporting on organisation progress to stakeholders. Key Duties:

  1. Supporting the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks. As a team you will be identifying key indicators, developing data collection tools, and making sure that good quality data is collected.
  2. Implementing and maintaining data systems that are effective and efficient. This involves monitoring Julyardi’s Client Management System (CMS), supporting services staff in using the CMS and developing new forms within the system as needed.
  3. Auditing data to ensure high quality data is always available for internal and external reporting.
  4. Assisting with the preparation of regular reports to funders, stakeholders and the Julyardi Board of Directors.
  5. Ensuring that the organisation adheres to the funding agreement and applicable regulations and best practice guidelines. Staying up to date on industry trends and best practices, ensuring the organisation staff are trained on these practices and making recommendations for improvements to MEL systems and processes. 
  6. Complete other duties as necessary and assigned by the COO or CEO.

About you:

We are looking for a detail oriented, team player with excellent technological skills. While experience and qualifications in monitoring and evaluation are important, they’re not essential for this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Advanced computer and digital technology skills including the Microsoft Suite of applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of data analysis, auditing and evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Aboriginal data sovereignty principles
  • Working with Children Check (current, or obtained prior to employment)
  • National Police Check (not less than six months old) or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Pre-employment medical – drug and alcohol testing

Desirable Skills

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in evaluation and data analysis
  • Experience working with Aboriginal families
  • Data auditing experience
  • Problem solving skills: the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement changes is essential.
  • Organizational skills: the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines is essential. Ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills: the ability to work collaboratively with organisation staff, partners and stakeholders is essential.
