YOUR ROLE, HONESTLY

The Outbound Sales Consultant plays a critical role in engaging with prospective students, managing lead pipelines, and converting interest into enrolments. This role uses a consultative and relationship-based sales approach to understand the unique motivations and goals of potential students and guide them toward courses that best suit their aspirations.

Working closely with the Marketing teams, the Outbound Sales Consultant ensures a high-quality experience from initial contact through to enrolment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead Management

  • Reach out to prospective students and influencers who have inquired or applied through various channels, primarily via phone calls, to qualify the lead readiness to commence at JMC Academy
  • Analyse and prioritise leads based on engagement level and likelihood to enroll
  • Execute targeted follow-up strategies using personalised communications
  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries via email, phone, or instant messaging
  • Scheduling qualified leads for meetings with sales team members for further discussion and conversion.

Product Knowledge and Reporting

  • Developing a high-level understanding of the institution’s course offerings to effectively communicate their value to potential students and influencers.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of lead interactions within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Work with Marketing to align messaging and improve lead generation

Performance

  • Collect and use feedback from leads to adjust engagement strategies
  • Meeting or exceeding established contact targets and contributing to the overall success of the sales team.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience in sales (customer service experience will be considered, but this is a sales role)
  • An engaging approach to communicating with potential customers (students)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems including segmentation, lead scoring, and tracking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of the higher education sector and creative industries will be desirable, but is not required
  • Customer empathy and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and remotely
  • Strong English Language proficiency

THE PRACTICAL BITS

BASE: Sydney or Brisbane, with hybrid working and some in-office presence for collaboration and key events.

REPORTS TO: Head of Sales and Conversion

TYPE: Full time, Fixed-Term contract

SALARY: Competitive, commensurate with experience; we’ll talk specifics early in the process.
