Description
People & Culture Coordinator – SCHADS Award Level 4
Are you an organised, people-focused HR professional who thrives on getting things done? Join JewishCare NSW’s People & Culture team and play a hands-on role in shaping the workforce that supports our community every day.
About the Role
As the People & Culture Coordinator, you are responsible for the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding experience for our frontline, support, and coordinator-level roles — from writing and publishing job ads through to welcoming new starters on day one. You will also be a key point of coordination and support for our broader People & Culture team, keeping documentation, records, and compliance tracking running smoothly.
This is a varied, fast-paced role at the heart of our organisation’s growth, with genuine scope to build better recruitment processes and talent pipelines as we scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating full-cycle recruitment: advertising, screening, shortlisting, interviews, and reference checks, in partnership with hiring managers
- Managing onboarding administration, including contracts, pre-employment documentation, and induction scheduling.
- Monitoring mandatory compliance checks (National Police Checks, NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Checks and professional registrations) and keeping records audit-ready.
- Developing a structured approach to high-volume recruitment for frontline roles, including building talent pools for future hiring needs.
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the People & Culture team, including invoicing, correspondence and maintaining our intranet HR content.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience coordinating recruitment, or in a similar People & Culture administration/support role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple vacancies at once.
- Confident, clear communication and the ability to build effective relationships with hiring managers at all levels.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills and comfort working with HRIS or recruitment systems.
Experience in community services, aged care, disability, or the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded, as is exposure to high-volume recruitment, SCHADS Award conditions or Employment Hero.
What we Offer
- Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits — up to $15,900 tax-free plus additional meal and entertainment benefits.
- A genuinely supportive, collaborative team culture.
- The opportunity to do meaningful, values-driven work that directly supports the wellbeing of our community.
- Broad, hands-on generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle, with real room to grow.
