About the role

As our Aviation Business Development Manager, you’ll drive growth by managing key customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities across the aviation sector. You’ll work closely with internal teams, industry partners, and customers to position IOR as the supplier of choice, while delivering commercial outcomes and long-term value.The position is based in our new Townsville Depot and is responsible for managing our North and regional Queensland customer base. Proven knowledge of this territory will be a key enabler of success in the role

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing aviation customers while securing new business opportunities.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new sales opportunities through networking, market insights, and targeted growth strategies.
  • Develop tailored proposals and solutions aligned to customer needs, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform pricing, positioning, and sales strategy.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, manage pipelines, and deliver regular sales and performance reporting.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles, ideally within aviation, fuel, logistics, or related industries.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with demonstrated success achieving sales targets and driving growth.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, with the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, with strong organisational and reporting skills.
