About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and compassionate female Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team in Warners Bay (Newcastle) on a permanent part-time basis. You will provide person-centred support to women living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home for people with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).
This role requires a strong understanding of professional boundaries, positive behaviour support, active support practices and the importance of maintaining a structured and consistent environment. As the service supports female residents only, being female is a genuine occupational requirement of this position.
In this role you will support participants with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, skill development, health and wellbeing and the achievement of individual goals. You will work collaboratively with families and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, person-centred supports.

To be successful you will:
- Have experience supporting people with disability, particularly within Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
- Demonstrate resilience, patience and a calm approach when supporting complex needs.
- Willingness to assist with personal care as needed.
- Be committed to promoting independence, choice and dignity.
- Work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including short shifts, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and active wake shifts.
- Contribute positively to a team environment and work independently when required.
- Have strong communication skills, maintain accurate documentation, and use Microsoft Office confidently.
- Work effectively and follow support plans and organisational procedures.
- Be reliable, accountable and committed to providing high-quality support.
Candidate Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Disability/Community Services (or related field)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain before employment)
- A valid driver’s licence
- A comprehensively insured and registered vehicle
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
