The General Manager is an integral member of the Intellect Systems Leadership team and is responsible for the planning and oversight of the Site Services function of the business, guiding and growing the division and ensuring sustainability and profitability, while maintaining the reputation and ensuring the safety of the staff of Intellect Systems. The role is responsible for overseeing the presales, technical and operational affairs of the division. The role is instrumental in driving business growth and fostering strategic partnerships within new and existing customers and projects.
About the role:
- Build and mobilise high-performing technical teams across multiple sites
- Develop strong client, supplier and subcontractor relationships
- Contribute workforce intelligence and resourcing input to divisional and company strategy
- Work with and through the Site Services Team to achieve the strategic objectives of the
company and successfully manage its growth.
- Responsible for divisional P&L including overheads, expenditure and internal research and development projects.
- Accountable for pre-sales, tenders, proposals, contract reviews, project negotiations and project close out.
- Provide input into the development of the Strategic, Facilities, 12-month and Business/Growth Plans, the annual budget and regular progress and variance reports.
- Communicate the vision and strategy clearly and consistently throughout the division and (appropriately) to clients and suppliers, building excitement, engagement and action.
- Develop and implement Site Services standards, systems, processes, templates and tools to achieve ISO9001 compliance in line with Australian standards.
- Develop structured client engagement plans for key accounts and project opportunities.
- Work with other division GMs to assess market entry and expansion opportunities to expand client base, projects and diversification offerings
About you
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Trade License or Mechanical Trade Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years’ experience in supervising or managing teams in mineral processing, materials handling, petrochemical or energy projects
- At least 10 years in business management experience including management of teams, financial oversight and business planning
- Strong experience in managing during times of change, stress and/or uncertainty
- Effective oral and written communication skills including proven ability in preparation of written reports, procedures, project communication plans, recommendations and proposals
- Experience in mid-sized or growing businesses
- A knowledge of ISO9001/QA processes and procedures, AS standards, and WHSE policies and principles
- Available to attend site or travel interstate on an ad-hoc basis when required.
