The Role

We are seeking experienced Product Owners to support the delivery of complex digital and ICT capabilities within a secure government environment. Working closely with delivery teams, user researchers, technical specialists and stakeholders, you will be responsible for shaping product direction, managing priorities and ensuring solutions deliver meaningful outcomes for users. This role requires a strong balance of product leadership, stakeholder engagement and delivery governance, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of strategy, technology and user needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain product roadmaps, delivery plans and project status reporting.
  • Manage and lead delivery teams, including resource allocation, prioritisation of work and evaluation of business outcomes.
  • Own and manage product backlogs, ensuring priorities are aligned to user needs and organisational objectives.
  • Engage, negotiate and build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders while managing complex requirements.
  • Drive change management activities and provide direction to support project delivery outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and monitor project and program strategies, plans and risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with user researchers, designers and technical teams to continuously improve products and services.
  • Support governance, reporting and decision-making processes across the product lifecycle.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in Product Owner, Product Manager or similar digital delivery roles.
  • Strong experience managing product backlogs, roadmaps and competing priorities within agile delivery environments.
  • Experience working with user researchers, business stakeholders and technical teams to define and deliver user-centred solutions.
  • Experience preparing reports, briefings and delivery updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working within government, Defence or other highly regulated environments

Desirable Criteria

  • Certification in recognised project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering complex ICT, digital transformation or enterprise technology programs.
  • Knowledge of user experience analysis, evaluation and design principles.
  • Experience working in secure or classified environments.
  • Understanding of governance, risk management and delivery assurance frameworks.

Additional Information

  • Contract commencement: September 2026.
  • Location: ACT.
  • Working arrangements are primarily onsite and subject to operational requirements.
  • Candidates must hold a current TSPV security clearance.
  • Australian Citizenship required.
