The Role

We are seeking multiple Junior Network Engineers /Infrastructure Engineers to support the operation and maintenance of critical ICT infrastructure within a highly secure environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for early-career infrastructure and networking professionals looking to build their experience in enterprise-scale environments. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the support of complex network infrastructure, system administration activities and service management processes while developing valuable experience across secure technology platforms. Please note that these roles involve shift work and are primarily onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the implementation, support and maintenance of complex ICT infrastructure environments.
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of Cisco, Juniper and associated network technologies.
  • Monitor system performance, availability and reliability using enterprise monitoring and management tools.
  • Perform routine system administration activities including backup, restore and configuration management tasks.
  • Respond to incidents, service requests, problems and changes through established IT service management processes.
  • Support account administration, permissions management and access control activities.
  • Assist in identifying operational issues and contribute to troubleshooting and resolution activities.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, support procedures and technical processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing system improvement and infrastructure enhancement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams to support secure and reliable service delivery.

About You

  • Experience supporting ICT infrastructure, networks or systems administration environments.
  • Knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper networking technologies and core networking concepts.
  • Experience monitoring infrastructure and reviewing system performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure operations, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting processes.
  • Familiarity with IT service management processes including incident, problem and change management.
  • Experience performing system administration activities including backups, restores and configuration tasks.
  • Basic scripting, automation or software development experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn within a complex technical environment.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco network management platforms, Splunk or similar technologies will be highly regarded.

Location: South Australia.

Working arrangements are primarily onsite, including opportunities located at Defence facilities.

Candidates must hold a current TSPV security clearance.

Australian Citizenship required.

APS 4 or 5 Equivalent
