About the role

Our Resources and Energy team offers genuine breadth, variety and career development across advisory, transactional, due diligence, land access, native title, project development and tenure management work. Working directly with Partners and senior practitioners, you’ll manage allocated tasks, identify legal issues, draft clear documents and advice, and support practical outcomes for clients in highly regulated sectors.

As a Solicitor in our team, you can expect to regularly:

• Undertake jurisdiction-specific research and prepare clear, practical advice for resources and energy clients
• Support transactional, due diligence and routine advisory matters, including drafting and reviewing documents for straightforward matters
• Assist with land access, native title, cultural heritage, project development and tenure management work
• Analyse and interpret statutory provisions, current laws, common law and relevant extrinsic materials
• Participate in negotiations and other alternative dispute resolution processes under appropriate supervision

About you

We are looking for a driven Solicitor who is enthusiastic about building their career in resources and energy law.

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

• A Bachelor of Laws, admission as a Solicitor in Australia and a current Practising Certificate
• Approximately 1-3 years’ post-admission experience
• Experience or interest in transactional matters, due diligence, land access, native title, project development or tenure management
• Proven experience applying legislation, case law and procedure to routine matters with developing independence
• Demonstrated ability in legal research and analysis, producing clear, practical advice on straightforward issues
• Demonstrated ability to draft accurate, well-structured documents, including advice, correspondence, transaction or litigation documents, under supervision
• A proactive, professional and client-focused approach, taking ownership of tasks and following through
• Strong organisation and efficiency, with the ability to plan work, meet deadlines and balance competing priorities
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail
• A collaborative and respectful team style, contributing to a positive and inclusive culture
