Lead a growing food manufacturing operation and help shape the future of our business.

 

Due to significant growth in production volumes and continued business expansion, Homestyle Bake is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join our Toowoomba-based leadership team.

This is not a replacement position. It is a newly created leadership role that will work alongside our existing Factory Manager, providing operational leadership across our manufacturing operation and supporting the next phase of growth for our business.

We’re particularly interested in leaders from fresh food manufacturing, bakery, dairy, meat, beverage or other food production environments. However, we also welcome applications from experienced FMCG and manufacturing professionals who have successfully led large production teams and delivered strong operational outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading factory operations through a team of Supervisors and frontline leaders, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety outcomes and business objectives are achieved.

You will play a key role in developing leadership capability, driving operational excellence and building a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and teamwork.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing Production Supervisors and operational leaders
  • Managing day-to-day production, packing and dispatch activities
  • Driving productivity, labor efficiency, yield improvement and cost control
  • Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, SQF and WHS requirements
  • Leading workforce planning, recruitment and succession initiatives
  • Managing employee performance, conduct and attendance matters
  • Monitoring operational KPIs and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects across the facility
  • Managing operational resources, equipment and production capability
  • Building a positive, engaged and high-performing workplace culture

 

About You

You are a proven people leader who enjoys being visible on the production floor, developing teams and delivering operational results.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience from fresh food manufacturing, bakery or food production environments, however we also welcome applications from experienced leaders within FMCG, manufacturing or large-scale production operations.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role
  • Significant people leadership experience, including leading supervisors and large operational teams
  • Experience managing performance, workforce planning and employee relations matters
  • Strong knowledge of production environments and operational performance metrics
  • Experience working within quality, food safety and WHS frameworks
  • A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage labor and operational costs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on achieving results

 

Highly Regarded

  • Fresh food manufacturing experience
  • Bakery manufacturing experience
  • HACCP, GMP, SQF or Food Safety experience
  • Leadership or management qualifications
  • Trade qualification within a manufacturing environment
