Description

Full Time | Monday to Friday | Approx. 9:00am–5:00pm

HDS is growing – and off the back of a significant new client partnership, we have a newly created Inventory Controller position available at our Morningside depot. This is a dedicated role managing inventory for a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer Australian food brand that delivers premium, farmer-sourced meat, seafood, and fresh produce to customers across the country.

If you’re someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys working with systems and data, and wants to be the person the operation relies on to keep stock right – this could be the role for you.

About the Role

As the dedicated Inventory Controller for this client, you’ll be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy across a chilled product range with short shelf lives and high turnover. You’ll work closely with the depot operations team and be the key point of contact for all inventory-related matters for this account – from daily cycle counts and FEFO monitoring through to investigating discrepancies and keeping the WMS up to date.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out daily cycle counts and stock checks across the client’s chilled product range
  • Monitor FEFO stock rotation and proactively flag any shelf-life or rotation risks
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately
  • Maintain accurate data in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Process stock adjustments, movements, and corrections in a timely manner
  • Support inventory reporting and provide regular updates to the depot operations team
  • Assist with the onboarding of new products as the client’s range grows
  • Ensure inventory processes remain compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with food safety requirements

About You

You’re precise, dependable, and comfortable owning a function rather than just contributing to it. You take stock accuracy seriously, know your way around a WMS, and understand the stakes when product has a short shelf life.

You’ll also bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in an inventory, warehouse, or stock control role
  • Solid WMS experience – confident managing and interrogating system data
  • Strong working knowledge of FEFO and stock rotation principles in a chilled or food environment
  • Good Excel skills and comfort working with data and reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of a client account without close supervision

Why Join HDS?

  • A newly created role – your chance to set the standard and build the function from day one
  • Work with a product you can feel good about – premium Australian produce sourced directly from farming families
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm – a stable, consistent roster
  • Be part of a growing national logistics business with real opportunities to develop your career
