Counsellor

This role works across two programs NEMCADS and Active Recovery Team (ART).

Our NEMCADS program provides One-on-one counselling and peer-group support. We provide personalised alcohol and drug counselling in Perth for individuals of all ages, along with support for families and friends affected by substance use and mental health challenges.

The ART program is an intensive 12 week program delivered in collaboration with a partner organisation providing mental health and wellbeing care and support for people aged 18-65 in Perth with complex drug, alcohol and mental health needs.

About the role

• You will work in collaboration with our partner organisation providing mental health and wellbeing care and support for people aged 18-65 in Perth with complex drug, alcohol and mental health needs.
• You will provide client assessments, plannings, interventions and case management.
• You will utilise extensive cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) theories and methods to assist participants of the program with issues relating to AOD use and other behaviours
• You will develop and maintain professional and up to date client records and data.
• You will write professional and timely client reports outlining program engagement

This is a permanent, full-time role. The role is based primarily from our Midland office with the flexibility to work from other Holyoake locations on occasion. Regular travel to offsite locations will also be required.

About you

• You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work, or have extensive experience in these fields.
• You have demonstrated experience working with or studying evidence-based AOD models and theories.
• You have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
• You work autonomously when needed and value being part of a strong, connected team.
• You can form effective relationships and work collaboratively with co-facilitators.
• You hold or can obtain a current National Police Clearance no older than 12 months,
• You hold a valid driver’s license and access to your own vehicle.
