This role works across the school calendar — four terms of 10 weeks, 40 weeks in total — and follows the school holidays. Accrued leave is taken during term breaks.

About the Role

We’re looking for a warm, community-minded Family Services Support Worker to join our team on a part-time basis. Working two days a week — Tuesdays at Rose Bay Cottage and Thursdays at Holdsworth — you’ll play a vital role in delivering inclusive, community-based programs that support family wellbeing, early childhood development and social inclusion.

You’ll help plan and facilitate playgroup sessions and related family services activities, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for the families and children who take part.

What You’ll Do

• Support and facilitate weekly playgroup sessions alongside the Family Services team
• Promote inclusive, person-centred opportunities for families and children to build social and recreational skills
• Actively engage with parents and children to foster participation and connection
• Help ensure the physical and emotional safety and wellbeing of all participants
• Assist with planning play-based learning activities suited to participants’ needs and interests
• Maintain accurate attendance records and handle customer payments where required
• Provide up-to-date information, advice and referrals about Holdsworth’s services and programs
• Supervise and mentor volunteers and student placements involved in playgroup delivery
• Represent Holdsworth positively at events and in the community
• Use Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word and Excel) for communication, documentation and reporting

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar community services or early childhood support role, ideally in a not-for-profit or council-funded setting
• A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Early Childhood, Social Work or a related discipline (desirable)
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current National Police Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365
• A genuine commitment to inclusive, person-centred community work
