Kantra Copper (ASX:KAN) is a growing ASX-listed Australian copper producer with its heart in South Australia. Kantra Copper has operated since 2005 and completed open-pit mining at Kanmantoo in 2020. In 2023, we commenced development of our underground mine and in 2024 completed our transition to underground copper production.
Our operation is well capitalised with a 3–3.6Mtpa processing plant, with permitted surface infrastructure in place. Kantra Copper is also testing the next suite of high-potential targets. About the Role
Kantra Copper are seeking a Maintenance Electrician at Kanmantoo are responsible for ensuring all electrical statutory preventative maintenance is completed, efficiently and safely in line with operational requirements. With a wide variety of tasks across planned and unplanned work, breakdown response, preventative maintenance. This is a dynamic role maintaining a fixed plant to guarantee smooth continuous operation of the processing plant. will ensure all electrical isolations and permits are controlled to site requirements.
This role is based at the Kanmantoo Copper Mine, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and is a 7:7 Day/ Night roster, 12 hrs per shift. Shifts may vary in consultation with you depending on site requirements.
Based in the Adelaide Hills, Kanmantoo offers a great local lifestyle with the convenience of being only 55mins from the Adelaide CBD, 25mins from Mount Barker and 30mins from Murray Bridge.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to safe electrical works across maintenance and preventive works including routine plant inspections and reporting.
- Install, maintain, calibrate and demonstrate operation of electrical systems and instrumentation
- Ensure all electrical work is done in accordance with legislative requirements and to adherence to AS/NZS standards
- Coordinate isolations and permits to ensure compliant work fronts and verify risk controls and work quality
- Participate in electrical maintenance and shutdown activities
- Provide detailed and accurate cross-shift handovers (status, hazards, isolations and next steps).
- Drive reliability and availability improvements by supporting fault finding, timely corrective actions to reduce downtime.

- Trade qualification – Certificate III in Electrotechnology
- Unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Current Driver’s License
- Full Australian working rights

- Certificate III/ Iv Instrumental or similar qualification
- Hold a current HV Switching competency
- Elevated Work Platform (WP) + 11m Licence
- LVR/ CPR Certification
- Safe Working at Heights Licence
- Confined Space Licence
