- Proven experience in a retail supervisory/assistant management role, preferably home improvement, hardware, or design.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This pivotal role involves leading retail sales, overseeing key operational functions, and supporting the Store Manager in driving store performance.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting day-to-day store and showroom operations
- Assist the Store Manager with daily operations, staff rostering, and performance management.
- Mentor and support team members to achieve individual and store targets
- Action staff hiring, promotions and disciplinary procedures (where required)
- Ensure thorough induction and training for all new staff members
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and maintaining a fully stocked store
- Manage the receipt and distribution of shipments
- Maintain showroom and warehouse ensuring it is kept clean & safe at all times
- Reporting and sales management
- Supporting warehouse and delivery operations where required
- Ensuring compliance with WH&S policies and safe work practices
What We’re Looking For
- Proven working experience in retail supervisory or assistant management role, preferably within the home improvement, hardware, or design sectors
- Understanding of advanced sales principles, customer service practices and team leadership
- Good level of computer literacy and MS applications
- Driven to meet sales targets with a proven record of exceeding
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Solid communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
Physical Requirements of the Role
This role includes both showroom and operational responsibilities and involves regular standing, walking and manual handling tasks, including safely lifting and moving products up to 15–20kg.
