HHG Legal Group is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join our Employment Law team in any of our offices.
This full time or part time role is ideal for a lawyer with at least three years’ post-admission experience in employment law. You will manage a varied caseload, work closely with clients and contribute to a busy, collaborative team.
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and confident advising clients on complex and sensitive workplace matters.
About the Role
As an Employment Lawyer, you will advise employers and employees across a broad range of employment and workplace relations matters.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing employment law matters with appropriate supervision and support
- Working closely and collaboratively with the Employment Law team
- Advising on employment contracts, workplace policies and workplace entitlements
- Assisting clients with performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
- Advising on terminations, redundancies, unfair dismissal and general protections claims
- Representing clients in employment-related disputes, negotiations, conciliations and proceedings
- Preparing legal advice, correspondence, agreements, court documents and submissions
- Appearing in the Fair Work Commission and other relevant courts and tribunals where appropriate
- Confidently handling enquiries from existing clients and prospective new clients
- Building strong client relationships and delivering practical, commercially focused advice
- Managing files, deadlines, billing and other matter-related responsibilities
You will be confident managing your own workload, progressing matters efficiently and communicating clearly with clients throughout their matter.
About You
To be successful, you’ll have:
- At least three years’ post-admission experience in employment law or workplace relations
- Admission to practice in Western Australia and a current practicing certificate
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, Fair Work Commission processes and relevant court procedures
- Experience managing employment disputes and providing practical workplace advice
- Confidence taking calls from clients, identifying key issues and providing clear next steps
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commercial, solutions-focused approach to legal advice
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and critical deadlines
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters
