Your new role…

We are on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to play a key strategic role driving the firm’s growth agenda across priority clients and practice groups.

Working closely with Partners and Practice Group Leads, you will translate strategy into focused, commercial action ensuring business development plans are effectively executed and aligned across the firm.

This is a highly Partner-facing role, acting as a trusted advisor to identify growth opportunities, strengthen key client relationships, and support cross-practice collaboration. You will also help improve how strategy is implemented across the business, ensuring alignment between Partners, Practice Groups, and Marketing & BD.

This is a senior, strategic position with a strong emphasis on growth, opportunity development, and commercial impact, rather than day-to-day operational delivery.

A typical day will see you..

  • Develop and execute client and practice group growth strategies with Partners
  • Identify, shape, and progress new business and cross-practice opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Partners on client targeting, pursuit strategy, and relationship development
  • Lead and coordinate high-value pitches, proposals, and strategic submissions from initiation through to conversion
  • Develop, coordinate client marketing material, collateral and merchandise
  • Strengthen and support key strategic client relationships, driving deeper engagement and growth
  • Ensure alignment between firm strategy, client priorities, and business development execution across teams
  • Drive cross-practice collaboration to maximise client opportunities and revenue outcomes
  • Oversee and contribute to client engagement initiatives, events, and profile-raising activities
  • Leverage CRM insights and market intelligence to support informed decision-making and opportunity development
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in how business development is structured, prioritised, and delivered across the firm

You are a commercially astute and strategic BD professional who thrives in a Partner-led environment and enjoys shaping direction, not just executing tasks.

You bring:

  • Significant experience in business development within professional services (legal highly desirable)
  • Strong track record of working with Partners and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and drive client and practice group growth strategies
  • Experience leading complex pitches and high-value pursuits
  • Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking
  • Excellent influencing and relationship management skills
  • Confidence operating across multiple practice groups and stakeholders
