Senior Civil Designer

At Hartecs, Engineering Services is the technical backbone of our business – transforming concepts into practical, buildable infrastructure with precision, integrity, and innovation at every stage.

We are seeking a Senior Civil Designer to take ownership of complex design packages and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes across multidisciplinary projects, based at our Sunshine Coast office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil design from concept through to construction (roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks)
• Produce and review precise, construction-ready drawings and models
• Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design challenges and optimise outcomes
• Apply rigorous standards, QA processes, and safety-in-design principles across all deliverables
• Undertake modelling, grading, and quantity assessments to enhance design efficiency
• Deliver complete, high-quality documentation packages for approvals and construction
• Contribute to team capability and technical excellence
• Drive efficiency through digital engineering, innovation, and continuous improvement

About You

Qualifications

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) 

Experience & Capability

• 5-10+ years’ experience in civil design
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical deliverables and lead small teams
• Strong experience across:
• Earthworks and grading
• Roadworks and site development
• Stormwater systems (minor and major)
• Utilities and subdivision design

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and 12D
• Strong capability in surface modelling, volumetrics, and design coordination
• Exposure to GIS and digital delivery frameworks (highly regarded)
