Located in the heart of Halls Gap and set against the spectacular landscape of Gariwerd / Grampians National Park, Silverband Lodge is the perfect base for school excursions and journey-based programs, corporate retreats, family reunions or large group stays. Nestled on 47 acres of bushland flush with native flora and fauna, at Silverband Lodge you have access to the vast trails and natural wonders of the National Park whilst enjoying convenient access to the facilities and services on offer in Halls Gap. You will be required to work across both sites located in Halls Gap and Beaufort.

About the role

Are you a passionate outdoor enthusiast, eager to inspire and engage young people? Silverband Lodge is seeking a qualified and experienced outdoor activity instructor to instruct and lead specialised outdoor activities and/or lead groups on residential and journey based camps.

In this full time role, you will:

Lead specialised activities including abseiling, canoeing, swimming, high rope, bike riding, bushwalking
Lead non specialised activities such as map reading, low ropes, bouldering, archery, bush cooking
Plan and organise camp programs and develop activity programs and new activities
Act as a mentor to activity instructors and holiday camp counsellors
Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service
Uphold a strong commitment to safety in all activities

Qualifications and Skills

Tertiary qualification (Degree or Cert IV) in Outdoor Education/Leadership or similar
Minimum of 12 months+ of professional experience as an outdoor educator
Accreditation in abseiling, canoeing, swimming, high ropes & bike riding
Demonstrated Leadership experience
Senior First Aid certification (Wilderness First Aid highly desirable)
Working with children check, police check and driver’s license
A good level of physical fitness
