We are currently in the final commissioning stages of a new, world-class distribution facility at Port Adelaide for cement and other related cement products. Hallett Group is the largest bulk cement supplier in South Australia.

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity is available for a Shift Supervisor in the Cement distribution team to join the Hallett Group. Reporting to the Production Manager – Cement, you will lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution, ensuring efficient processes, ensuring products are dispatched safely, efficiently and on time. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building strong teams and high safety standards in a fast-paced environment and driving operational performance and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in coordinating labour, equipment and workflows to support smooth daily operations and exceptional service delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong commitment to safety, health & environmental responsibility
  • Supervise daily operations of the Cement team, including labourers, forklift operators, and drivers.
  • Plan and allocate workloads based on daily dispatch requirements and available resources
  • Ensure all cement orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager on production planning, staffing, and process improvements
  • Support Transport allocators with delivery schedules and allocation of workloads.

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES

  • Valid High Risk Forklift licence (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Leadership or management or relevant tertiary training (preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience in a cement environment or warehouse operations, with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong people management and team coordination skills.
  • Solid understanding of cement products, warehouse processes, and safety standards
  • Strong knowledge of chain of responsibility legislation and NHVR requirements.
  • Proven ability to adapt and solve problems
  • A continuous learner and strong communicator
  • Valid Driver’s licence (preferred)
