Are you an experienced production supervisor who enjoys leading a team, keeping things moving and finding better ways to get the job done?

Haars Nursery is looking for a Production Area Supervisor to join our Lyndhurst team. This is a hands-on mid-level leadership role where you will oversee daily production activities, lead a team of up to 10 casual employees and help ensure our production area operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day production activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, organisation, productivity and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and other leaders to ensure production targets are achieved and the area remains clean, organised and running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning and coordinating daily production activities.
  • Monitoring workflow and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Maintaining clean, organised and safe work areas.
  • Ensuring all production processes and quality standards are followed.
  • Completing regular production updates and communicating progress with the Production Manager.
  • Working collaboratively with other supervisors to achieve business objectives.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with WHS procedures.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident leading people and can balance getting the job done with maintaining a positive, safe and productive team environment.

You will ideally have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise, multitask and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and people leadership skills.
  • The ability to work with multiple stakeholders and coordinate competing priorities.
  • Experience implementing and supporting change within a workplace.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality and workplace standards.
  • A Certificate IV in Horticulture or equivalent would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in horticulture, nursery production or manufacturing would be advantageous, but industry experience is not essential.
