Join the Team at Meldora Land Management (MLM) as we expand our footprint just North of Deniliquin in the Morago/Pretty Pine region of the Riverina.

Meldora Land Management is expanding in the Pretty Pine region of the Riverina and we’re looking for an experienced Cropping Overseer ready to take the next step into leadership.

Working closely with the Farm Manager, you’ll help lead day-to-day cropping operations across a large-scale mixed farming aggregation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll continue operating machinery while coordinating seasonal activities and supporting a small team.

About Pretty Pine

Bringing together a number of privately owned and operated farms into one aggregation with a strong a focus on optimising land use, leveraging scale as well as setting up for future growth. As part of this mandate, we will be able to work towards the further building out of farming opportunities in the region to expand and optimise as assets are acquired.

An important addition to this is supporting land transformation as we look to optimise efficient irrigation opportunities along with scale environmental plantings and livestock operations across this region. 

As Cropping Overseer, you’ll:

  • Coordinate day-to-day cropping operations including seeding, spraying and harvest
  • Operate and maintain modern machinery, GPS guidance and precision agriculture systems
  • Support irrigation operations, supporting laterals and pivots and water management across the aggregation
  • Supervise and mentor junior farm operators, contractors and seasonal staff
  • Plan daily work activities to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently
  • Monitor machinery performance and coordinate servicing and repairs
  • Work closely with the Farm Manager to deliver seasonal plans and production targets

Senior Farm Hand and Farm Hand roles will support the Overseer role in executing this plans and operational requirements.

About You

You’ll ideally be an experienced Senior Farm Hand or Machinery Operator who is ready for more responsibility.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in broadacre dryland and/or irrigated cropping
  • Strong machinery operating skills
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability – A mechanical qualification is a bonus!
  • A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
