Description

About us:

GO.FARM is an Australian-owned, high-conviction agricultural investor, developer and manager with a clear purpose: to transform Australian agriculture.

We identify underutilised and undercapitalised agricultural assets and reimagine them through land use change, investment in people, and adoption of climate-smart technologies. Our investment decisions and operations are underpinned by our Responsible Agriculture Framework, which guides our stewardship of natural capital, people and communities.

About the role:

We’re looking for an Asset Manager to drive the financial, operational and physical performance of a portfolio of GO.FARM agricultural assets.

Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, this is a commercially focused, farm-facing role that connects what is happening on the ground with financial performance, investment strategy and long-term asset value.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor asset performance against approved business plans, budgets, forecasts and investment objectives.
  • Analyse financial and operational results to identify material variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain asset plans covering priorities, capital requirements, risks and value-creation initiatives.
  • Partner with and constructively challenge Farm Leaders on asset performance and key operational drivers.
  • Maintain a regular presence across allocated farms and build a strong understanding of production systems, asset condition and operational performance.
  • Identify and assess capital requirements and support business cases for infrastructure, development and improvement projects.
  • Review financial performance, forecasts and operating assumptions across allocated assets.
  • Support budgeting, valuation, benchmarking and investment analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency, operating performance and long-term asset value.
  • Support acquisitions, developments, refinancings, recapitalisations and divestments where required.
  • Monitor delivery of approved projects and value-creation initiatives against scope, budget and expected outcomes.
  • Act as a key link between farm operations and GO.FARM’s Asset Management, Finance, Investments and Development teams.
  • Provide clear asset-level reporting, recommendations and insights to the Head of Asset Management and farm leadership.
  • Contribute to stronger asset management systems, reporting, planning and decision-making across the portfolio.

About you:

You’re commercially minded, analytically strong and comfortable working across both farm and corporate environments.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in agricultural asset management, agribusiness, commercial management, finance or a related field.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • A good understanding of agricultural operations and key performance drivers.
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Experience with budgets, forecasts, business cases and capital expenditure.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to challenge constructively without stepping into operational ownership.
  • Confidence working across farm, finance, investment and corporate teams.
  • A willingness to travel regularly across GO.FARM assets.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.
