We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and capable Senior Finance Officer to join our small finance team based in our Head Office at Ulverstone.
This is an opportunity to step into a key role within our organisation, providing leadership to our Finance team while contributing to the effective financial management of the organisation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide day-to-day guidance to two Finance Officers and take responsibility for a broad range of finance and payroll functions. You will also have the opportunity to step up and provide relief for the Finance Manager during periods of leave.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance, direction and leadership to a small finance team of two Finance Officers, including commitment to personal and team effectiveness.
• Managing day-to-day financial and accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, petty cash, corporate prepaid/debit cards, ledger reconciliations and end-of-month procedures.
• Processing payroll and applying a sound understanding of the SCHADS Award.
As the Senior Finance Officer, you will have:
• A relevant diploma or tertiary qualification or be working towards such qualifications.
• Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration while managing multiple priorities effectively.
• A minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
• A high level of computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (especially Outlook, Excel and Word).
• Demonstrated experience using MYOB.
• An ability to use critical thinking to understand and analyse problems and find solutions.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong time management abilities.
• An ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, courtesy and discretion
• An ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and work confidently with people across all levels of the organisation.
• A current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or National Police Check or happy to submit to one.
• A current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) card or the ability to acquire.
• A current full Australian Driver’s licence (minimum P2s) is essential.
