About the role:
- Permanent Full-time – Multiple roles
- Minimum 30 hours per week on a rotating roster, from Monday to Sunday, inclusive.
- Location: Gibbston Valley Wines – Otago, Gibbston
- $28.00 to $32.00 depending on the skills and experience
As a Cellar Door Sales & Tour Guide, you’ll be the face of the brand – welcoming guests, guiding them through hosted wine tastings and immersive cave experiences and delivering memorable moments that reflect our story, our wines, and our values. This role blends sales, storytelling, and hospitality – ideal for someone who thrives on connection, enjoys presenting to groups, and brings energy to every interaction. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering the Gibbston Valley brand story through engaging, educational wine tastings and guided cave tours
- Providing a high standard of hospitality, aligning brand and commercial expectations
- Hosting a variety of guest types – from both local and international visitors
- Confidently supporting wine sales and helping guests find products they love
- Creating a warm, energetic environment that leaves a lasting impression
About you:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in in wine sales, cellar door, or wine tourism environments
- Have strong understanding of New Zealand and international wine market
- WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) qualification or similar is preferred but not essential
- Confidence for conducting wine tastings and conversations about wine stories to international guests
- Experience working across both sales and operational hospitality environments preferred
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism seasons
- Eligibility of work in New Zealand without any restrictions.
- A reliable method transport since we’re located about 25 mins from Queenstown CBD
