About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, supporting major infrastructure projects across Australia.

 

Working within a multinational construction environment, you will play a key role in financial reporting, project accounting and compliance, partnering closely with project teams and senior finance stakeholders to support business performance and informed decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Prepare statutory and management reports while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities and project operations
  • Perform project accounting activities, including project cost allocation, WIP reporting, cost tracking and variance analysis
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and the ongoing monitoring of financial performance across projects and business units
  • Prepare GST, FBT and other statutory reporting requirements, while supporting intercompany transactions, group reporting and audit processes
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, financial reporting, systems and internal controls
  • Partner with project teams and finance stakeholders to provide accurate financial information and support informed business decision-making.

 

About You

  • Solid experience in financial accounting or project accounting within Australia
  • Previous experience in the construction, infrastructure, engineering or other project-based industries
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and statutory reporting requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar is highly regarded
  • CA or CPA qualification is highly regarded.
