About This Role:

  • The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end vehicle supply chain operations across Australia, including demand planning, vehicle ordering, shipment coordination, inventory management, logistics, distribution, regulatory compliance, and dealer supply support.
  • The role ensures efficient vehicle flow from production to retail delivery, manages supply chain partners, supports dealer network operations, and acts as the key liaison between Australia operations, Headquarters, logistics providers, and regional partners including New Zealand distributors.


Key Responsibilities:

Demand Planning & Sales Forecast Management

  • Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, supply plans, and inventory strategies to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Network teams to translate market demand into vehicle ordering and supply requirements.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve demand planning processes.
  • Support sales programs, stock campaigns, vehicle allocation strategies, and inventory planning to help dealer network achieve sales targets.
  • Provide demand insights and recommendations to support supply decisions and business planning.

Vehicle Ordering & Supply Chain Planning

  • Manage the end-to-end vehicle supply process, including vehicle ordering, production allocation, shipment planning, and dealer delivery.
  • Coordinate with Headquarters and manufacturing teams to ensure vehicle supply aligns with market demand and business priorities.
  • Monitor production schedules, order status, and supply availability, proactively identifying and resolving supply risks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of vehicle ordering, allocation, and delivery activities.
  • Support new vehicle launches and model introduction planning.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Establish and manage vehicle stock holding policies, inventory targets, and stock pipeline strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ageing stock, stock turnover, and supply coverage to support sales and financial objectives.
  • Optimize vehicle allocation across dealers and locations to maximize sales opportunities and minimize inventory risks.
  • Develop initiatives to improve inventory efficiency and reduce stock carrying costs.
  • Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.

Vehicle Logistics, Shipment & 3PL Management

  • Manage inbound and outbound vehicle logistics operations, including international shipping, port operations, vehicle processing, storage, transportation, and dealer deliveries.
  • Coordinate vehicle shipment planning and booking activities with Headquarters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
  • Manage vessel schedules, ETD/ETA tracking, shipment status, and inbound vehicle planning.
  • Coordinate vehicle arrival planning with ports, Vehicle Processing Centres (VPCs), warehouses, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Manage 3PL and logistics partners to ensure efficient vehicle handling, storage, transportation, and delivery performance.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs including delivery lead time, transportation cost, vehicle movement status, and service quality.
  • Coordinate dealer delivery schedules and ensure smooth vehicle handover processes.
  • Provide logistics and vehicle supply coordination support for the New Zealand distributor network as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and distribution operations.

Regulatory Compliance & Industry Reporting

  • Support vehicle registration and compliance administration in accordance with Australian regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate vehicle data management and submissions through NEVDIS and RAV systems.
  • Ensure vehicle compliance documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
  • Prepare and coordinate VFACTS reporting and other industry reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities and industry organisations as required.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle compliance and reporting activities.

Supplier Management, Procurement Administration & Payment Control

  • Manage operational relationships with logistics providers, freight partners, transport companies, VPCs, storage facilities, and other supply chain vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Review and verify supplier invoices relating to freight, logistics, warehousing, vehicle processing, and supply chain services.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely invoice approval, payment processing, and cost tracking.
  • Support supplier selection, contract management, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and optimize logistics costs.

Retail Operations & Dealer Network Support

  • Support dealer operations relating to vehicle supply, inventory management, and vehicle delivery processes.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain and stock management guidelines for the dealer network.
  • Ensure dealer readiness for vehicle launches, stock allocation, and delivery operations.
  • Support dealer onboarding, network expansion, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Retail Operations teams to improve dealer supply chain performance and customer delivery experience.

Sales Operations & Business Performance Management

  • Monitor vehicle supply performance, inventory levels, logistics performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Conduct regular analysis to identify supply risks, improvement opportunities, and operational trends.
  • Prepare management reports, supply forecasts, dashboards, and business updates.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, and operational strategy development.
  • Provide insights on inventory efficiency, supply performance, and working capital management.

Cross-functional Coordination & Headquarters Liaison

  • Act as the key liaison between Australia operations and Headquarters regarding supply planning, production, logistics, and vehicle availability.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Finance, Retail Operations, Marketing, Compliance, and Aftersales teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects relating to vehicle launches, supply improvements, and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication and execution of Headquarters policies and processes.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Continuously improve supply chain processes, reporting, and operational controls.
  • Support supply chain digitalisation and system improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Australian regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities focused on efficiency, service quality, and cost optimisation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, vehicle distribution, or related roles within the automotive industry.
  • Experience working for an automotive OEM, EV manufacturer, vehicle importer, or automotive distributor.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian automotive market and electric vehicle industry.
  • Proven experience in Vehicle supply chain management, Demand planning and forecasting, Vehicle ordering and allocation, International shipment coordination, Logistics and 3PL management, Inventory and stock pipeline management, Dealer network support, Supplier management and invoice coordination
  • Familiarity with Australian automotive compliance processes including NEVDIS, RAV, and VFACTS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage operational challenges.
  • Strong commercial understanding of inventory, logistics costs, and supply chain performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with ERP/supply chain systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across local and international teams.
