As a Support Worker in the Community Services & Development sector, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate support and assistance to clients, helping them achieve their personal goals and fostering independence. This position is essential for promoting community well-being and ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive the care and attention they deserve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and report on clients’ progress and any changes in their condition to the appropriate team members.
  • Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote engagement and well-being.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a support worker or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification is advantageous.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle may be required.
