At Forward Ability Support, we’re a not-for-profit organization with over 60 years of experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries and similar neurological conditions to live independently and achieve their goals.

We’re currently seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our team in Newcastle, Oakhampton Heights, Wickham and Arcadia Vale.

Morning shifts available:

Newcastle

  • Monday: 6:00 am – 8:00 am 
  • Wednesday: 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
  • Fortnightly Monday, Tuesday,: 6:00 am – 8:30 am
  • Fortnightly Monday & Friday: 12:30 pm-2:30 pm
  • Fortnightly Thursday & Friday: 6 am-8 am
  • Fortnightly Sunday: 6:30 am- 9 am

Wickham

  • Sunday & Tuesday: 7:30 am – 10:30 am

Arcadia Vale

  • Fortnightly Monday to Saturday 6am-9:30am

Oakhampton heights

  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday: 6am – 8am

 

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll provide personalized, high-intensity support within clients’ homes, including:

  • Showring and hygiene maintenance
  • Mobility assistance, transfers and hoist use
  • Bladder, bowel and catheter care
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Household tasks and domestic support
  • Community access using the client’s vehicle
  • Completing daily progress notes

To join our team, you’ll need

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Prior work reference
  • Compassion, reliability and a positive attitude

Please note:

  • You must be available to work short split shifts where required.
  • All new team members attend a paid 3-day induction in Lidcombe.
