Ferguson Lodge is our specialised accommodation site located in Lidcombe, providing support for those with spinal cord injury since 1979. We offer community-based accommodation with a high level of personal and clinical care for those who have complex needs.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Officer to join our team and play a vital role in delivering high-quality meal services to our residents. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and enjoyable meals, supporting residents’ dietary needs, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This is an excellent permanent part-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about food service, resident wellbeing, and working within a supportive and values-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with approved menus and dietary requirements.
  • Managing kitchen staff including health and hygiene
  • Complying with food safety and HACCP forms and checklists
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and sanitised

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar
  • Understanding of HACCP in terms of food handling and preparation with specific knowledge of the Food Safety Standards
  • Understanding of nutrition practices and special dietary/ modified textured needs
  • Previous experience working in aged care, disability services, healthcare, or a residential care environment
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Desirable)
