We’re looking for a full-time, Brisbane-area-based Events & Staffing Coordinator to join our Fortress team under a 6-month fixed-term contract.

About You

We’re looking for a professional, proactive, organised, and hands-on events and/or staffing coordinator for on-premise and B2B events and activations across SEQ. If you’re passionate about games like Dungeons and Dragons or Magic: The Gathering, and are happy coordinating casual event staff as you are delivering events for 30-100+ guests, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As our full-time Events & Staffing Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Booking and managing casual ‘Games Master’ staff for Fortress Experiences across SEQ venues.
  • Supporting casual staff recruitment, onboarding and orientation.
  • Providing games events training.
  • Acting as a local point of contact for partner venue managers, for ad hoc and event-day troubleshooting.
  • Travelling to partner venues to support delivery as required.
  • Supporting evaluation of new locations.
  • Maintaining quality and audit standards across venues and experiences.
  • Providing additional reporting, logistical and administrative support to Experiences as required.

This role will be offered for a 6-month fixed-term period, with a potential view to extend. The role is based in the Greater Brisbane area, reporting to the Melbourne-based Experiences lead.

What You’ll Bring

  • Intermediate knowledge of at least one of Dungeons & Dragons and/or Magic: the Gathering.
  • Solid understanding of scheduling and workforce coordination.
  • Experience working across multiple sites or locations, ideally in hospitality, events, or entertainment.
  • A sound understanding of community building and management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and brand standards.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves; no task too big or too small.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to partner venues in SEQ, including evenings and weekends, to support Fortress Experiences events.
  • A valid driver’s licence is highly regarded.
  • Must have ongoing and unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
