Build Innovative Engineering Solutions with Fork Force Australia

Fork Force Australia is one of Australia’s leading material handling equipment companies, supplying, hiring, servicing, and supporting a comprehensive range of forklifts, stock pickers, container handlers, reach stackers, and specialised material handling equipment.

With our Head Office based in Brisbane and a national branch network, we provide innovative material handling solutions to customers across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, transport, ports, construction, and mining.

As the Australian importer and distributor of our own ENFORCER range of forklifts and material handling equipment, we continue to expand our engineering capability and are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll work on real-world mechanical engineering challenges involving heavy mobile equipment, customised material handling solutions, equipment modifications, compliance, product development, and technical support.

Working from our Brisbane Head Office, you’ll collaborate with experienced technical professionals across Australia and play an important role in supporting engineering projects that directly impact our customers and business operations.

No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering solutions for customer-specific material handling applications

• Manage equipment modification and customisation projects from concept through to implementation

• Prepare calculations, reports and technical documentation

• Conduct engineering assessments to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements

• Support new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives across the ENFORCER product range

• Perform equipment inspections and technical evaluations

• Provide engineering support to Sales, Service and Operations teams across Australia

• Liaise with suppliers, customers, technicians and external engineering consultants

• Develop engineering procedures, technical standards and documentation

• Assist with product testing, validation and engineering investigations

About You

We’re looking for a practical Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving engineering problems, working with heavy equipment, and seeing their designs become reality.

You may currently be working in manufacturing, mining, transport, heavy vehicles, agricultural equipment, construction machinery or industrial equipment and are looking for a role offering greater variety and responsibility.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Approximately 2–5 years’ engineering experience (or equivalent)

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles

• Experience preparing engineering documentation and technical reports

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Highly Regarded

• Experience with forklifts, mobile plant, heavy vehicles or industrial equipment

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, lifting equipment, structural design or finite element analysis

• Familiarity with Australian Standards relating to mobile equipment or lifting devices

• Practical workshop or fabrication experience

• Experience working with engineering change management or product development

What We Offer

• Competitive industry-based salary package commensurate with experience.

• Diverse engineering projects with real-world impact

• Opportunity to work on one of Australia’s fastest-growing material handling equipment ranges

• National exposure across engineering, service and operations

• Professional development and technical training

• Long-term career progression within a growing national business

• Supportive team environment with direct access to senior leadership

Why Join Fork Force Australia?

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your career behind a computer producing drawings.

You’ll be involved from concept through to implementation—designing solutions, inspecting equipment, solving customer challenges, working alongside technicians, and influencing the future direction of our ENFORCER product range.

If you enjoy practical engineering, heavy equipment, and working on projects where your decisions make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
