THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Finance team is growing, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Controller to join our team based in Derrimut (Western Suburbs).

The primary objective of the role is to assist in maintaining financial control, monitor and report on the financial performance of the business in Australia. Investigate and report on the financial performance of the business and identify and lead the implementation of process improvements within the Finance function.

You’ll be joining a down-to-earth team where things move quickly, there’s plenty of variety and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact across our Australia and New Zealand operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports including profit & loss, budget variance explanation, cashflow, balance sheet and other reporting as required.
  • Assist Finance Manager in month end operational performance review process, analysis and reporting for the business.
  • Manage and verify sales data accuracy on both top level and customer/product level, and work on investigation & rectification of any identified variances, including system mapping calibration
  • Develop capital expenditure plans and annual budgets and review capex proposals and business cases.
  • Lead the budget development process for the business including assisting department managers in the preparation of operating budgets.
  • Source and interpret financial information to support strategic decision making by the Executive team.
  • Prepare cost analysis and estimates for use in contract preparation and revision.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline
  • CPA or CA qualified with current membership
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and management accounting.
  • Previous experience in senior Finance role including dealing with Operational personnel.
  • Strong cross functional knowledge and business acumen.
  • Experience in multi-site operations in multiple countries.
  • Experience with ERP’s essential. M3 system knowledge preferred.
  • Power Bl knowledge preferred.
