Description

Purpose. Flexibility. Belonging.

That’s why our people choose Five Good Friends.

At Five Good Friends, we’re reimagining what ageing well looks like.

We believe people should be able to live independently, safely and connected to their communities for as long as possible. Every day, our technology-enabled care model brings together Members, Helpers (others call them carers) and care professionals to create meaningful relationships that improve lives.

As one of Australia’s leading providers of home care, we’ve experienced strong year-on-year growth and continue to invest in our people, technology and operating model as the sector evolves.

We’re proud to be recognised as a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work category winner, but what matters most to us is creating a workplace where people can do meaningful work, grow their careers and genuinely belong.

This is one of those rare leadership opportunities where operational excellence and human impact go hand in hand.

Why Make the Move?

If you’re looking for an opportunity to combine purpose, impact and growth, Five Good Friends offers all three.

You’ll join a business that:

  • Is a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work category winner.
  • Continues to grow strongly year after year.
  • Is helping lead the sector through one of the biggest reforms in aged care. (check)
  • Invests in its people, systems and future capability.
  • Empowers leaders to shape outcomes, not just manage processes.
  • Delivers meaningful impact for Members, Helpers and the communities we support.

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a highly visible function, influence meaningful change, and play an important role in what comes next.

Why we’re investing in this role

As Five Good Friends continues to grow, the function responsible for connecting Members with the right Helpers has become increasingly critical to our success.

The quality and timeliness of every match directly impacts Member outcomes, continuity of care, service quality and business performance.

We’re looking for a leader who can take an already important function and elevate it further. This role will bring together matching, rostering and visit coordination capabilities into a single high-performing function, creating greater consistency, efficiency and impact while establishing the processes, practices and team culture needed to support our next phase of growth.

You’ll lead the teams responsible for Member matching, scheduling and visit coordination, ensuring we consistently deliver the right support to the right people at the right time.

This is more than a rostering leadership role.

It’s an opportunity to lead a critical operational function that sits at the heart of our Member experience, while helping shape the systems, processes and capabilities that will enable us to scale effectively.

What You’ll Lead

Operational Performance

Drive operational performance across a critical Member-facing function, ensuring services are delivered reliably, efficiently and in line with our relationship-based care model.

Team Leadership

Lead and develop a high-performing team, building capability, accountability and a culture focused on Member outcomes.

Technology Enablement & Innovation

Leverage existing technology to maximise team performance and operational outcomes, while identifying and championing new solutions that improve matching quality, workforce utilisation, service delivery and scalability.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working to support growth and operational excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with leaders across Care, Helper Experience and Platform teams to deliver a seamless Member and Helper experience.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 12 months, you will:

  • Improve matching and service delivery performance across key operational metrics.
  • Increase continuity and stability of Member-Helper relationships.
  • Unite a newly established function into a high-performing team with clear processes, strong collaboration and a shared commitment to Member outcomes.
  • Strengthen team capability, engagement and accountability.
  • Deliver process improvements that support efficiency, scalability and growth.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted leader and key contributor across the business.

The Leadership We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a leader who combines operational rigour with genuine care for people.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Significant leadership experience across workforce planning, rostering, scheduling, service delivery or operational coordination functions.
  • A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or transforming teams, bringing together people from different functions to create a cohesive, high-performing and accountable workforce.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen, with experience managing performance through metrics and data.
  • Experience improving processes, driving efficiencies and leading change.
  • The ability to navigate complexity, competing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Experience within aged care, health, community services, disability or other service-based environments.
  • Experience working within flexible workforce or contractor-led models will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’ll bring a leadership style that is both accountable and people-centred.

You know how to achieve results without losing sight of the humans behind them.

What We Offer How we support our people

At Five Good Friends, we believe great leaders do their best work when they feel supported, trusted and connected.

In return for your expertise, we’ll offer:

  • A competitive remuneration package.
  • Flexible and hybrid ways of working.
  • A values-led culture where people matter.
  • Opportunities to shape how a growing organisation evolves.
  • Meaningful work with real impact on the lives of older Australians.
  • $500 yearly wellness allowance to spend on anything that helps you feel good outside of work.
  • Extra time off – after 2 years, you’ll earn an extra day of annual leave each year. You can also buy more leave if you’d like.
  • Free, confidential counselling through our Sonder Program.
  • Parental leave support – we top up wages for eligible caregivers, and primary caregivers get extra super during their first year of unpaid leave.
  • Extend our care to a loved one at a special rate. This family member will receive Care Managed services at Self Managed prices (values vary depending on circumstances).
  • Okinawa trip – after 5 years with us, we’ll send you to Japan to visit the community that inspired Five Good Friends. Flights, hotel and transfers are all covered.

If you’re an experienced operational leader who can combine performance, people leadership and purpose, we’d love to hear from you.

Join us in helping more Australians live independently, safely and connected to the people and communities they love.
