About Us:

FIT Merchandising is a specialised sales and merchandising company, providing support within Bunnings and the Independent Hardware Industry across Australia and New Zealand. We deliver hands-on, in-field support to our clients, working directly on the shop floor to ensure products are presented at their best, promotional activity is executed seamlessly, and opportunities to drive sales are identified and acted on in real time. Our team acts as an extension of our clients’ brands, providing valuable insights, maintaining strong store presence, and ensuring consistency across all locations.

We pride ourselves on building strong, collaborative partnerships with Bunnings and the independent stores we service. By working closely with store teams, we create mutually beneficial outcomes—enhancing the customer experience, supporting store operations, and delivering measurable results for our clients. These partnerships are built on trust, communication, and a shared commitment to excellence in retail execution.

Effective merchandising helps customers find what they need, discover new products, and feel confident in their purchases. From eye-catching displays and strategic shelf placement to maintaining consistent stock levels, great merchandising enhances the shopping experience and drives sales performance.

Our friendly, supportive team culture embodies our core values and principles, representing who we are in the marketplace—our beliefs, our thinking, and the way we operate. These values and principles shape our interactions with our customers, clients, and each other.

About the Role:

We are seeking motivated and hands-on team members to join our Assembly & Refit team on a casual, project-based basis. In this role, you’ll play a key part in bringing retail spaces to life by assembling, refitting, and maintaining high-impact product displays across major retail environments, including hardware and home improvement stores.

This is a practical, fast-paced role suited to individuals who enjoy working with their hands, following visual plans, and delivering high-quality in-store results that align with client expectations.

Enjoy variety in your workday, with projects scheduled between 6:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Additional hours are offered on an ad hoc basis depending on client requirements, store activity, and seasonal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly of displays – Build and install product displays, fixtures, and shelving using basic tools, ensuring stability and visual appeal

Refitting display bays – Execute layout changes, range updates, and bay relays in line with client requirements

Implementing planograms – Accurately read and interpret planograms and visual instructions to deliver compliant, high-quality displays

Visual execution – Complete tasks based on visual plans and briefs, ensuring all work aligns with current campaigns and in-store standards

Promotional builds – Construct and install promotional and seasonal displays to maximise product visibility and sales impact

Electronic reporting – Complete real-time reporting for all store visits and project work using a mobile device

Store collaboration – Work alongside store teams and colleagues to ensure smooth execution of all tasks and projects

Time management – Manage workloads efficiently across multiple projects and locations

Occasional travel – may be required depending on project needs and generally on larger projects where coverage or a team are required. This is not frequent, and where travel is required, all associated costs are covered, including kilometres, accommodation, and meal allowance.

About you:

No two days are the same, so we’re looking for adaptable, reliable individuals who take pride in their work and can deliver results in a fast-paced retail environment.

Physically capable – comfortable with heavy lifting, repetitive motion, and working on your feet

Hands-on and practical – confident using basic tools, assembling fixtures, and working with hardware

Planogram confident – able to read, understand, and execute layouts from visual plans and instructions

Detail-oriented – committed to accurate execution and high presentation standards

Self-motivated – able to work independently and get the job done efficiently

Reliable and punctual – strong time management and accountability

Team player – works well with others and builds positive relationships in-store

Flexible and adaptable – comfortable working across different stores, products, and project types

Requirements:

  • Previous assembly, merchandising, or refit experience (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Experience in large retail environments (advantageous)
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone or tablet for reporting and communication

Why Team FIT:

  • Flexible work that fits around your lifestyle
  • Opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and products
  • Supportive team environment with hands-on training provided
  • Be part of delivering high-quality retail displays you can be proud of
