About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Product Manager, who will be responsible for the planning and delivery of our Payments, Settlements & Billing products — that drive the movement of money on Fat Zebra. You’ll have the unique opportunity to add huge value to our customers, and directly influence the business’ future.

You will work closely with Engineering, Sales, Support and Marketing teams to discover, design, build and release new features and updates that will help our customers enhance how efficient it is to process payments with us.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Product strategy & vision: Develop and communicate a clear vision & strategy for our payments products. Prioritise initiatives using data-driven insights and customer feedback.
  • Customer-focused development: Engage directly with customers to identify pain points and opportunities for product enhancements.
  • Industry insight & innovation: Stay deeply connected to emerging trends and shifts in the global payments landscape. Use this knowledge to anticipate change, drive innovation and position Fat Zebra as a leader in online payments.
  • Product roadmap: Drive development of the payments product roadmap. Collaborate with the team to prioritise features and enhancements based on customer needs and business goals.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Act as the bridge between engineering, design, and business teams to deliver user-centric solutions.
  • Execution & delivery: Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical scoping, and release management.
  • Metrics & optimisation: Define and monitor success metrics, ensuring continuous improvement post-launch.

How you know you’ll succeed

There are several areas where we want you to create impact:

  • Measurable improvement in product-driven growth, including increased transaction volume or revenue directly attributable to new product launches or enhancements.
  • Increase in customer satisfaction related to product experience and functionality.
  • Enhanced positioning in the market through differentiation in product capabilities, particularly in alignment with our local market strategy.

Skills & Experience

To hit the ground running, you will need:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, leading end-to-end product lifecycles from feature discovery to production release or extensive experience in the payments industry.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic vision into actionable and detailed product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Skilled in conducting market research, interpreting customer feedback, and analysing usage data to drive continuous product improvement and validate product decisions.
  • Strong track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams including engineering, design, sales, and marketing to successfully deliver complex products.
  • Deep understanding and experience with the Australian payment landscape, including insights into local payment schemes and merchant needs.
  • Track record of proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and quickly adapting to changes in a fast-paced product environment.
