We are seeking an experienced People & Capability Business Partner to join our People & Capability team and partner with leaders across the organisation to deliver exceptional people outcomes and employee experiences.

About the Role 

Reporting to the Chief People & Capability Officer, you will provide trusted HR advice, coaching and support to leaders across the full employee lifecycle. This is a true generalist business partnering role where you’ll contribute to organisational culture, leadership capability, learning and development, employee relations and diversity and inclusion initiatives.. 

You will work closely with leaders and the P&C team to foster a high-performing, values-driven culture while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, workplace relations obligations and best-practice people management. 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Partnering & Employee Relations 

  • Coach and support leaders on employee relations matters, performance management and employment lifecycle practices. 
  • Provide practical, compliant advice on workplace legislation, policies and industrial instruments. 
  • Build leadership capability through proactive coaching and guidance. 
  • Support organisational change initiatives and workforce planning activities. 

Learning & Development 

  • Identify organisational learning needs and coordinate leadership development and capability-building programs. 
  • Facilitate training across leadership, HR practices, inclusion and workplace behaviours. 
  • Support the development of new and emerging leaders. 

Culture, Engagement & Inclusion 

  • Help drive employee engagement, wellbeing and cultural initiatives. 
  • Analyse employee feedback and workforce data to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Support diversity, equity and inclusion programs within a bicultural and bilingual organisation. 
  • Contribute to recognition and reward initiatives that enhance the employee experience. 

Projects & Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead and contribute to people-related projects, system enhancements and process improvements. 
  • Support annual people-related reviews, benchmarking and workforce reporting. 
  • Partner in organisational initiatives that strengthen capability and performance. 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Business Partnering role 
  • Experience in end-to-end design and implementation of an enterprise leadership and capability development program. 
  • Knowledge of employment relations legislation and contemporary HR practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and build trusted relationships with leaders. 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. 
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience and professionalism. 
  • Experience using HRIS platforms, ideally Employment Hero. 
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a proactive and collaborative approach. 

Desirable 

  • Experience within the not-for-profit, community services or for-purpose sector. 
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters including performance, investigations or disciplinary processes. 
  • Awareness of the Deaf community, accessibility principles or Auslan. 

Requirements 

The successful candidate will be required to hold or obtain: 

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance 
  • Working With Children Check 
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module 
  • Other role-specific training requirements as applicable.
