About the Role:
We’re looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team and support accurate and timely financial reporting across Experience Gold Coast.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll contribute to month-end close, reconciliations, journals, revenue accounting and financial reporting, while working with teams across our diverse organisation spanning arts, culture, tourism, events and education.
What You’ll Do:
- Support month-end close, including journals, general ledger reconciliations and reporting deliverables.
- Prepare bank, prepayment, intercompany and payroll-related reconciliations, including journals and investigating discrepancies.
- Reconcile and journal culinary and ticketing revenue.
- Assist with BAS and FBT preparation and maintain financial records and controls.
- Verify financial statements, ledgers and accounts, identifying and correcting discrepancies as required.
- Support the Finance Manager and broader Finance team with adjustments, corrections, AR/AP activities and accounting projects as required.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years’ relevant accounting experience.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with a professional accounting qualification or working towards one.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to new systems and processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.
