About the Role
We are seeking a professional and adaptable Security Officer for casual FIFO or Shutdown opportunities across our Major Contracts Portfolio. This role supports camp and mining environments, ensuring the safety and security of client locations and assisting with security patrol operations.
This casual position is ideal for security professionals seeking flexible, ad hoc work. Each day offers variety across patrols, village duties, and site introductions, providing exposure to multiple operational environments. You will gain valuable experience across mining and camp settings where no day is the same. Working within our Major Contracts division, you will contribute to delivering expert crisis and risk mitigation services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols across village and site facilities
- Focus on early identification of potential disturbances with the view to de-escalate and contain potential incidents
- Monitor security and alarm systems on a regular basis
- Perform access control
- Maintain records and registers relevant to security and running of building
- Maintain safety and security standards in line with client SOPs
- Provide excellent customer service to all site personnel and visitors
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across diverse backgrounds to uphold security standards
About You
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience in security roles, ideally in mining or FIFO environments
- Familiarity with Gallagher or similar security systems preferred
- Competent in a variety of security tasks
- Ability to follow strict security protocols and procedures
- Commitment to safety standards and exceptional customer service
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Security Licence and relevant security qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- 4WD qualification highly desirable
- Current National Police Clearance (no more than 6 months old)
You will be required (but not limited) to:
- Attend to client and visitor needs with exceptional customer service
- Show resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Liaise and assist police and emergency services when required
- Demonstrate competence in spoken and written English
