What’s the role?
We’re looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our Rockhampton Village on a casual basis, working approximately 15 hours per week.
Working alongside the Chef and reporting to the Village Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen by:
- Assisting the Chef with preparing nutritious, home-style meals
- Preparing and packing resident meal bags
- Serving lunch to residents in a friendly and professional manner
- Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning and sanitising the kitchen and dining areas
- Receiving deliveries and correctly stacking and rotating stock
- Supporting food safety and workplace health and safety compliance
- Reporting hazards or maintenance issues promptly
- Building positive relationships with residents through friendly conversation and excellent customer service

Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or cleaning role
- A Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- An understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety practices
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Confidence interacting with older Australians in a friendly and respectful manner
- A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents
