The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially acute and relationship-driven Global Relationships and Business Portfolio Manager to build, manage and strengthen strategic client relationships across domestic and international corporate, government and extended-stay travel markets.

 

This role is central to creating genuine, long-term client partnerships combining commercial relationship management and business development. With a focus on growing key accounts, strengthening partnerships and identifying new opportunities across a dynamic and expanding market, positioning MainStay Suites as a leading extended-stay accommodation solution.

 

This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys building trust, maintaining regular engagement, identifying practical growth opportunities and delivering exceptional client experiences.

 

What You Will Do

  • Build and nurture high value relationships with corporate, government and international clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, loyalty and engagement.
  • Manage structured call cycles and regular client contact to understand needs, address concerns promptly and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Deliver tailored solutions and drive revenue growth that align client objectives with MainStay Suites’ offerings, service standards and commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support account development and new business opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with global mobility agents, hotel sourcing teams, travel management companies and strategic partners, including Choice Hotels.
  • Support contract negotiations, client tenders, RFPs and RFQs in line with business, revenue and rate strategies.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis and client account reviews to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, client follow-ups and account activity, providing clear reporting on client performance, market activity and relationship opportunities.
  • Leverage data, market intelligence and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, reporting, client insights and commercial decision-making.

 

About You

You are a confident relationship builder with strong commercial judgement. You know how to manage complex stakeholders, identify growth opportunities and turn client needs into practical solutions.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in relationship management, business development or a related field.
  • Proven track record managing multi-layered client relationships and delivering measurable results.
  • Demonstrated success in a senior key account or relationship-based role.
  • Strong digital literacy and proven experience applying AI tools to improve workflows and generate insights.
  • In-depth understanding of client buying cycles, market trends and the extended-stay sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.

 

This role requires regular interstate travel. Flexibility in schedule and approach is essential to support global clients, varying time zones and cultural requirements.
